"As One" Set for 2016 Release

Alan Powell, the muliple award winning writer/director whose past successes include the internationally acclaimed films Across the Hall, Sunday Punch and Phone Box, is preparing to release his next film. As One is another triple threat for Powell having written, produced and directed the UK production. It's also one of the most ambitious short films he's embarked on with about ninety percent of the scenes shot in studio against a green screen. Powell explains, 'The compositing alone took four months. Had Kyle Rossiter (our compositor) and I known that it was going to take four months I think we both would've reconsidered agreeing to it. But in for a penny in for a pound. Kyle did a smashing job and was committed til the very end. I owe him big time."

The story of As One unfolds inside a black cab as it drives through central London picking up its passengers at iconic landmarks. Seven Dials, Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden are among the cameo's in this evocative and bittersweet film.

Powell's script was strong enough to attract two time Olivier award winner, Janie Dee, and veteran TV star Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly, Bob the Builder). Rounding out the ensemble are the familiar faces of Jeany Spark (The Interceptor, Man Down, Jericho) and Edward MacLiam (DCI Banks, Ordinary Lies, Holby City).
